Alignerco - Reviews and experiences

This company is a scam. The only reason why they get a few good reviews is that they push people to give reviews very early in the process. I refused this and said I wanted to finish my treatment before giving a review and the got really grumpy about it.
Their serivce is only good as long as you're a happy customer. After that it will take you weeks to get replies from them.
As I has special difficulties with my teeth, I sent them photos up front and they confirmed this was not a problem and that they had corrected much worse teeth before. When I asked about the payment they promised that if they couldn't fix this, they would refund me the full amount. So I paid and did the impression. After that they sent me a consent form, a contract, which was very unprofessional, and demaded things which should definately have been asked before payment was made. When I said I didn't want to sign, they said that wasn't an option as I would loose all my money. So I signed, and later was told they could only adjust my upper teeth, not bottom. As any professional would say, both upper and bottom teeth needs to be done together, they are part of the same month. So I said I wouldn't do any. When I asked to get my money back, they said they will still charge for the impression kit, which is not what I was told at the start when we deiscussed the first photos.
After much back and forth they agreed to repay me the full amount, but since then they have done nothing. It's been months now and they still say the case is with the finance departemnt, but refuse to put me in direct contact with the people there. I have still not got a single dollar back from them. I am considering legal action. Companies scamming people like this should not be allowed to operate.

Be VERY careful if you choose to use this company. I paid $895 and received my impression kit fairly quickly. They were unhappy with all three impressions, so for another $10, I was sent another kit. Again, they were unhappy with the three new impressions (that's a total of 6 impressions top and bottom). They offered me a video session to get the impressions just right. I took off from work to do the session, and they blew me off. No session, no email, and now I've missed work. At this point, I decided I was done with them. Trying to get a refund from this company is EXTREMELY difficult. I had to threaten them with filing a claim with both AMEX and the BBB. I left a 1-star review here on TrustPilot, and they finally agreed to a refund so long as I complied with their demand to delete the review (seriously?!). They tried to keep $69.99 for the impression kit when it was only $39.99. After sending screenshots and having to argue with a very unprofessional 'resolution specialist' named James Myles, I received my refund of $855 within a few days. I blocked this company from my email, and my AMEXand set up a fraud alert on my CC, just in case they try to charge me again. I believe this company does work successfully for some people, and that's fantastic. They are definitely cheaper than a lot of other options out there, but there's a reason for that. Just be VERY SURE you want to go through the hassle of taking the impressions and dealing with these people via email only (they do have a phone number, but it's outsourced to India, and their customer support is extremely bare-bones) because if you need/want a refund, it is NOT a pleasant experience (read the negative reviews). I honored my 'refund agreement' and removed my original 1-star review of this company. I never said I wouldn't leave another review with a different rating, though, so here it is.
