Complaints, concerns, controversy and reviews

MacKeeper features an FAQ-page on its website that addresses problems when Macs are very slow, won’t start up, suddenly shut down, get hot or when safari is slow, webpages do not open properly, finder does not open or iTunes crashes.

MacKeeper’s “Human Assistance services” consists of Apple certified IT professionals who provide desktop support and troubleshooting. MacKeeper is also on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Linkedin.

MacKeeper has been subject to a fair deal of controversy. Some have extensively praised and awarded the service, many of whom are professional reviewers. However, others have criticized the service’s advertising practises and the difficulty of uninstalling the service from your Mac. MacKeeper’s PR Director has stated to Cult of Mac that the service has fallen victim to Black PR, people who do not like its advertisements, affiliate accounts who violated the service’s terms and similarly named rogue services.
