It's really important to be careful when you get emails saying your account will be deleted from places you're not familiar with. I got a bunch of emails from someone saying they were from Photobucket and they were gonna delete my account if I didn't do something about it. You gotta watch out for those phishing scams and never give out any of your personal info to those kinds of sources.
Account deactivation emails
I just got a bunch of emails saying my account got deactivated because the website doesn't support free accounts anymore. When I logged in, I saw I didn't have any saved photos, which got me thinking if it's really worth paying for a subscription.

This company is running a sketchy email scam. They keep sending me emails saying my account will be deleted if I don't log in, even though I don't even remember signing up with them. I tried to reset my password multiple times without any luck until I got one final email with a method to reset it. After changing my password, they immediately asked me to pay $5 to keep using the service. I can't access any photos that are supposed to be saved on their website, and I don't remember ever using their service before. When I contacted their customer service, they just directed me to a useless website. It's obvious this company is up to no good with their scam, and they ignore any complaints. Don't fall for their tricks.
Online photo storage services
I've been using online photo storage services for years and have tried a few different ones. But, I recently gave this one a shot and honestly, I was super let down. The non-stop emails and requests to recover my account felt like too much and honestly, it felt like a bit of harassment. I really don't want to fork over cash to get back old photos, especially ones that don't mean that much to me. So, I've switched over to a different platform and I'm way happier with it.
Avoid this shady website
I had a awful experience with this website, eh. After I uploaded my photos, they tried to hold them hostage when I wanted to leave, eh. I've been bombarded with lots of emails every day for months since I tried to cancel my account, eh. The emails come from different addresses, making it impossible to fully escape their harassment, eh.
False information emails
I got a bunch of emails from the company telling me to come back and saying they'd delete all my photos if I didn't. Even though I paid for a membership, turns out I didn't have any photos saved on their site. I felt tricked and annoyed by the whole thing.
Free uploads turned into paywall
They used to be free, but now they're asking for money, eh! They keep sending threatening emails about deleting my pics unless I pay up. No warning beforehand and now they're acting like mobsters. I unsubscribed from their spammy emails, they can delete my pics for all I care, eh!
Subscription payment
I had a really bad time trying to pay for my subscription on this photo storage site. They sent me an email saying they would delete all my photos and videos if I didn't pay up. I was suspicious at first, so I checked the email to make sure it wasn't a scam, then I went to the website. When I logged in, they only gave me two payment options and I couldn't access any of my stuff. Even though I picked a plan and paid, they told me my account was already deactivated. Extortive tactics
That company is totally out of line, thinking they can just surprise you with a bill for looking at photos you posted! It's like they're trying to blackmail us, it's not right at all. I don't even know which photo they're talking about, but I'm not paying just on principle. Keeping people's memories like hostages is a shady move. Their whole way of doing business is just not cool, no transparency or fairness at all. They should have at least let us try it out for free before making us pay up.
