Founded in December 1919 (just 16 years since the Wright Brothers successfully flew the first powered aircraft), AVIANCA has been a full member of Star Alliance since 2012 and flies to 76 destinations. The company's headquarters are in Bogota City Colombia. Their hub airports are located in Bogota and San Salvador in El Salvador. They also have their secondary hubs in San Jose de Costa Rica and Quito, Ecuador. Besides, they have passenger subsidiaries based in Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. The brand also operates cargo and courier airlines as well as a helicopter services department known as Helicol. As earlier said, AVIANCA flies to 76 destinations as of 2021. However, their focus cities include Guatemala City, San Pedro Sula in Honduras, Managua in Nicaragua, Medellin in Colombia, Cali (Colombia), and Miami (USA). Apart from operating passenger airlines, AVIANCA also offers cargo and courier services. They also connect customers to hotel reservations and car rentals. The airline says that they allow each passenger to carry extra baggage for free to the tune of 158 cm maximum (which is the total of the length, width, and height of the suitcase).
