About Piriform
Piriform started in 2004, when they launched their first and most popular product CCleaner, which is used by customers to continually clean and monitor PCs and recently Macs in order to improve speed and privacy. Since then they have continued developing software all with the aim of solving problems people encounter with their PCs, mobile devices or Cloud space, or even complex internal business networks. They have achieved this launching Recuva and Defraggler in 2007, and Speccy in 2009, including a version of CCleaner for Apple Macintosh computers. CCleaner has been downloaded over 2 billion times, has over 5 millions desktop installs every week and is available in 55 languages. The company joke that every month they clear enough gigabites to store 7 billion selfies. Though the software is usable by individuals, it can also be rolled out to company IT networks and Cloud systems, meaning Piriforms list of customers includes large cooperations such as Adobe, Xerox, Fedex and Boeing. They were acquired by Avast Software in 2017.

Their products have been awarded prizes and certificates from the likes of Chip Online, Software Infromer Editor's Pick and PC World.


Services by Piriform
Piriform offers a variety of PC optimizing software, for homes, businesses, mobile technology and the Cloud. Most of their product names give a hint as to what function they serve:

  • CCleaner cleans peoples computers
  • Recuva recovers deleted data on a PC, Camera or iPod
  • Defraggler is used for defragmentation of entire hard drive or individual files
  • Speccy is an advanced system information tool for PC, analysing every details and piec eof hardward on your computer.
  • Agomo launched in beta form in 2013, is a all inclusive product that cleans, defrags and monitors computers for homes or for small and medium sized busines, such as hotels and restaurants.
