Guitar lessons purchase
I recently bought some guitar lessons and I've been really looking forward to the Phil Keaggy Master Class. But, from the end of June to the first week of August, there hasn't been much communication about when I can expect to get my stuff. I haven't gotten any emails or updates from the company letting me know about any possible delays, so I'm feeling kind of let down and left in the dark about what's going on with my order. When you're a customer, good communication is super important, and this lack of openness has been pretty frustrating. But, even though things haven't gone smoothly, I do appreciate how quickly they responded when I needed a reference number. So, thanks for that.
Yearly subscription at a discounted rate
I recently got a really good deal on a yearly subscription to this website. There's a ton of content available for the price I paid, which is awesome. But, the website itself is kind of a mess. It's not very user-friendly and it's hard to find what you're looking for. There's so much stuff on there that it's overwhelming. It's definitely worth it for the price I paid, but if it was more expensive, I'd be pretty disappointed. Hopefully they'll fix it up soon to make it easier to use.
Guitar lessons
I've been taking guitar lessons and finding them really helpful, even though I already have some experience. The beginner lessons have taught me things my in-person teacher hadn't gotten to yet. It's not just about memorizing - I'm actually picking up some music theory that I was lacking before. My son, who's 11, gave the kids' lessons a shot but felt they were too fast for him. Maybe if he sticks with it and practices more, he could push through.
Quick course purchase
At first, I found the site really slow to load, and it was pretty annoying since my internet speed is not too shabby. But when I checked back a few hours later, it seemed like things were running a lot smoother. Maybe they fixed whatever was causing the problem. In the end, buying the course was a breeze, but that slow loading speed at first was a little off-putting.
Guitar lessons
Great content and awesome instructors, I'm having a blast learning from them! The only bummer is that the android app doesn't work on my kindle and I can't download videos to watch offline.
Love jamplay
I really love JamPlay! The website is so awesome and I really like all the tools they have, especially the scales toolbox. It's super helpful. The instructors are pretty good overall, although there are some who are not the best. I wish they had a section on how to play specific songs by the Eagles, Beatles, and Clapton. But all in all, it's a great site!
I just started today
Today I started my lessons, but I found it difficult to move on to the next one. It kept showing me the same lesson I had just completed instead of progressing to the next one in line. I wanted to skip ahead a bit since I'm not a total beginner, but it was a challenge to do so on the website. The positive thing is that I really enjoyed the teaching style of the teacher.
One year subscription
I was really looking forward to my one year subscription, but it ended up being a letdown. The guitar lesson materials were great, but as a bass player, I felt kinda left out. It seemed ridiculous to me that I had to buy separate subscriptions for bass and guitar lessons. There just weren't enough resources for us bass players compared to the guitar folks. Guitar subscribers got tons of jam tracks, while us bass subscribers only got a handful. Overall, I'd say Jamplay is great for guitar players, but for us bass players, it's probably best to check out other options where one subscription covers both instruments.
